For much of my adult life, I worked in high-pressure roles that demanded everything from me—first as a Gulf War veteran in the early ’90s, and later during my years in the Police, much of that time as a Detective. These careers came with a cost. The constant demand, stress, and exposure to traumatic events slowly began to take their toll.
Eventually, my body and mind started to break down. I developed arthritis across my body, constant tinnitus, and crushing fatigue. On top of that, anxiety and depression crept in, and I was finally diagnosed with severe Mind Burnout. For a long time, I felt like I was slipping further and further away from the person I used to be.
But here’s the positive twist: that wasn’t the end of my story.

Finding My Way Back Through Fitness
When I hit rock bottom, I knew I had to change something. And the tool that rebuilt me wasn’t complicated—it was movement. I discovered how structured exercise could not only strengthen my body but also restore my mental wellbeing.
That’s why I created Booths Fitness and designed the BeatBodi workouts—a unique style of low-impact, music-driven, joint-friendly fitness that helps people lose weight, build strength, and feel amazing again.
For me, BeatBodi wasn’t just about physical transformation. It was a lifeline for my mental health. Each workout gave me focus, released stress, lifted my mood, and gave me a sense of control again. Science backs this too—exercise reduces anxiety, combats depression, and releases endorphins that boost your outlook on life.

I now run my own private personal training studio in Brompton on Swale, near Richmond, North Yorkshire. This is where I create tailored programs designed around functional training—using equipment like free weights, kettlebells, suspension training, resistance bands, and more.
