How does Personal Training help reduce high blood pressure?

I will work with you to find a solution that fits, I provide a free consultation that will enable me to form a plan to start reducing high blood pressure and improving health.

Some of the areas that I will focus on will be:

  • Cardiovascular training - CV is one of the most effective ways to see health improvements in general, and is an amazing tool to lower high blood pressure. It works to make the heart, arteries and veins, stronger and more efficient. It is important to find the right type and entry point for Cardiovascular training and I will find an appropriate type and comfortable start point for new clients.

  • Resistance and weight training - an essential part of reducing blood pressure. Much like cardiovascular training, resistance training will improve the heart, arteries and veins, but also it will improve insulin sensitivity in the muscles, allowing blood sugar to be used more effectively.

What’s involved in reducing high blood pressure?

  • Stress management - one of the positives of exercising is it is an effective way to reduce stress levels. Exercising releases calming endorphins and lowers the stress hormone cortisol, exercise also improves sleep and acts as a mindful distraction. I will focus on reducing stress levels by finding realistic ways to include exercise, mindfulness and nutrition into your lifestyle, that will have the overall result of lowering your blood pressure.

  • Nutrition and weight management - making the right nutritional choices and managing body weight effectively will help lower blood pressure. Dietary choices will improve arterial and heart health, whilst weight maintenance will lower the risk factors that lead to high blood pressure.

  • Accountability and exercise programming - I will come up with a plan that is individual to you, that fits your lifestyle and they will monitor your progress and achievements, keeping you accountable but also providing support along the way.

  • Lifestyle Recommendations - I will focus on giving realistic, achievable, lifestyle hacks and recommendations to reduce high blood pressure. After getting to know your lifestyle I can give advice that fits into your daily routine, that will help reduce high blood pressure that won’t be unrealistic to stick too.
